Bowlers sought
RALEIGH — The Triangle Rainbow Bowling League (TRBL) has announced that it is seeking community members to join them for their fall/winter season on Sept. 8.
League play consists of three games on Wednesdays starting at 7:30 p.m. for 28 weeks at Pleasant Valley Lanes, 5501 Commercial Ave. Cost is $15 per week and monies will be used for the end-of-season prize fund.
TRBL was formed recently by a group of LGBT Triangle Area individuals who love and enjoy the fun sport of bowling. Pleasant Valley Bowling Lanes was identified as a bowling center that was open to the community and could assist with forming this new league and make it successful.
The founding members of the league are Brian Mullis, Ron Leedy and Joe Lizana.
“Our hope as a GLBT group is to provide an environment where we can socialize and have fun bowling at the same time. We are also working to identify local non-profit GLBT Organizations who we can co-op with throughout the bowling season and make a charitable contribution to them at the end of the season. We invision having local GLBT groups visit weekly to provide our bowlers with information about their organization and also help with our weekly drawings.”
