RALEIGH, N.C. — The Red Ribbon AIDS Walk and 5K Run will be held on Oct. 17 beginning at Dix Park, 1213 Dixie Tr.

Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 9:00 a.m., rain or shine. Walk, jog or run the 5K course or the alternative one mile course. All participants will receive a race T-shirt and bag and are invited to enjoy an after race party, organizers said.

This event is co-hosted by Alliance of AIDS Services Carolina, the LGBT Center of Raleigh, Crape Myrtle Festival and North Carolina AIDS Action Network. All money raised will go to support the lifesaving work of all four organizations.

The registration fee is $25. All participants will receive a race T-shirt, a slice or two of Lilly’s Pizza, a fun day in the new park and a bag and are invited to enjoy an after-race party, organizers said.
