SARASOTA, Fla. — Metropolitan Community Churches are seeking a full-time conference and meeting coordinator to plan and oversee the programs for General Conference and other conferences and meetings in accordance with MCC’s mission and goals.

The employee will work from home, but will occasionally attend in-person meetings and travel.

Duties and responsibilities include: lead implementation of overall plans for General Conference and other conferences/meetings, as well as monitor progress, assure goals are met; oversee all conference logistics, including site selection and conference location logistics; oversee financial management of conferences and meetings, including budget development and planning according to MCC’s established policies and standards, continually monitor the event’s finances and achieve budget and financial goals and work closely with MCC’s accounting manager to track expenditures and report status; develop and implement marketing, public relations and communications strategies to support goals and increase awareness among MCC adherents, partner organizations, and local community.

Candidates should possess strong, polished interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, as well as be a creative, strategic and analytic thinker. Fluency in written and spoken English is required, and proficiency in languages, especially Spanish, Portuguese and/or German is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications and effective use of social media in business applications is also needed. Applicants should be highly organized, able to recruit, train and lead volunteers and be savvy in marketing.
