Hello, everyone, and Happy Friday! My name is Taylor, and I am bringing you this week’s QWeekly — our once-a-week recap of the latest headlines.

The latest edition of Qnotes hit the stands today, so be sure to pick up your copy at one of our many stands across Charlotte!

Our cover story for this week talks about the construction and contracting industry and LGBTQ+ representation within those trades. U.S. construction labor data doesn’t track people’s sexual orientation, but a 2015 study by the United Kingdom’s Construction Industry Council anonymously surveyed nearly 24,000 construction workers.

The results: 1% of workers identified as bisexual, 0.8% identified as a gay man, and 0.2% identified as a gay woman or lesbian. People identifying as LGBTQ+ are a minority in the United States, and, just based off the U.K.’s data alone, an even smaller minority in the construction trades.

TODAY FROM VIENNA:

As promised, today’s photo comes from the entrance hall to Vienna’s Art History Museum, formally known as Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien.

It was really cool to see these artifacts older than the Bible or most monotheistic religions, as well as see some of the history I learned about as a child in school.

There were also artifacts from the Austrian empire, which included A LOT of gold and jewel encrusted treasure.
