Zac Efron on the cover of September Details magazine

In the feature story, Zac Efron discusses his poison oak disaster, what he likes about Shia LeBouf and his difficult decision to turn down a “Footloose” remake opportunity.

The star also talked about what it was like to get picked up by Tom Cruise and get motorcycle lessons from Top Gun himself:

But Cruise recently flagged Efron down in the lobby of CAA. “You ride motorcycles?” Cruise asked him. Alas, he didn’t. “You wanna learn how?” Cruise invited him out to his house, taught him how a motorcycle engine works, showed him the hangar with his dozens of pristine bikes—including the Triumphs he rode in the Mission: Impossible movies. Efron was allowed to ride a pedigree-less dirt bike. “He made so many great movies,” Efron says of Cruise. “I get the feeling that he works really, really hard. It didn’t come from swagger with him. It came from dedication, hard work. You see it in the way he physicalizes everything. You watch The Last Samurai and that’s him! He’s really doing that.” I ask Efron why he supposes Cruise bothered reaching out to him. “I don’t know,” he says. “I don’t even want to know. It’s just so cool that he gave a shit, the fact that he cared at all. No one else did that.”

Plus, Details provides a behind-the-scenes look at Efron’s cover shoot:

Gay vampires of “True Blood”

In the latest “True Blood” episode, Night of the Sun, Eric and Talbot have the honor of performing the show’s first man-on-man action. Check out the video of the kiss and more here.

Theo Alexander (Talbot) said the scene scared him, though he was ultimately glad he did it.

Well, the part about kissing another man. I don’t really do that, so… I didn’t want to think of him as a woman. Many people told me, “Oh, just close your eyes and think of him as a woman.” But no, because that is a totally different energy and I had to be very present with Alex and his male energy. I had to open myself to be able to actually be attracted to him, like, really attracted to him. At the end of the day, it was fun, though.

Josef BrownAussie Josef Brown will play gay gladiator on “Spartacus”

Here’s what co-creator Steven DeKnight had to say of the new character:

“[Auctus and Barca] have a mutual respect, but Auctus is Barca’s physical equal. He’s just as good a gladiator as Barca is and just as deadly. They obviously love each other, and they have some great moments together, but they also have a very jocular love affair. They don’t mind smacking each other around.”
