CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolinas will experience a full slate of local LGBT Pride festivals and parades this weekend, with three events planned across the region.

In Durham, N.C., thousands will gather for the 29th annual North Carolina Pride Fest and Parade on Saturday, Sept. 28. Events include a day festival with non-profit and business vendors, speakers and entertainment and a parade. Other activities include a full calendar of nightlife and other community events throughout the weekend. See our special qnotes preview of NC Pride for more information.

Meanwhile, SC Pride will also hold their festival and parade the same day in Columbia, S.C. As last year, organizers have will host their festival on Main St., right in front of the South Carolina State House. Visit scpride.org for more information.

And, in the foothills, Catawba Valley Pride will host their festival in Hickory, N.C. The event, held at City Hall, will feature entertainment from the Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte and She N She, among other performers. For more information, visit catawbavalleypride.org.

Other local Pride events are scheduled for October, as well. Asheville will host its Blue Ridge Pride on Oct. 5. Pride Winston-Salem will be held on Oct. 19.

  1. I am heading to South Carolina Pride this Saturday as I do each year. If anyone would like to ride with me and Wendy I have room for 2 more people in the car.
