Local transgender individuals have come together to ask the North Carolina General Assembly not to override Charlotte’s LGBT non-discrimination ordinance, which allows trans people to use the bathroom and locker rooms consistent with their gender identity, among other protections.

The GA is meeting today to take on the ordinance, as well as minimum wage and employment discrimination, both of which would now be left exclusively to the state to decide.
