DURHAM, N.C. — Homoground, a music website that promotes equality and visibility for LGBTQ, allied and female musicians, will hold a birthday bash on Jan. 21 to celebrate its first year on the net. The festivities will be held at The Pinhook, 117 Main St., at 10 p.m. and will feature a special performance by Homoground’s Emerging Artist of 2011, Suspect Raptor of Georgia.

The party does not stop there. Afterward hit the all-night dance floor with DJs Queen Plz and PlayPlay.

Homoground was the recipient of the 2011 Encore Magazine Webby Award. They were also nominated for a People’s Choice Podcast Award in the GLBT category, as well as have promoted shows for Kaki King, among others. Their curated collection of music was featured at the Pink Sheep Film Festival in Wilmington.
