
Smack dab in the middle of downtown Durham’s popular American Tobacco District, the new Durham Performing Arts Center is sure to be a draw for all sorts of arts enthusiasts.
Scheduled to open this December, the Bull City’s newest, state-of-the-art performing arts venue has plans to showcase a variety of gay-popular musicals and other theatrical performances in its inaugural 2008-2009 season, including “Rent,” Cirque Dreams, “Jesus Christ Superstar” and more.
Their 2009-2010 season includes the ever-popular “Wicked.”
The 2,800-seat, 10,000 square foot arts center is designed to showcase direct-from-Broadway shows, concerts and other entertainment.
