LONDON — Betty, a film production company, is making a one-hour documentary for Discovery Networks International which takes a look at attitudes toward breast milk and breast feeding practices in today’s world.

Challenges to misconceptions are the key focus of the film and producers are seeking a wide range of stories and are expressly wanting to include the experiences of LGBT parents.

Questions that they are posing surround: lesbian couples who are breastfeeding a surrogate or adopted child; gay couples who have sought out breastmilk from milk banks or donors; those who have looked into alternative nursing systems to bolster their relationship to their child; and those who may have attempted to induce lactation.

Filming is taking place globally with a crew that possesses care with sensitive documentaries.
