
Happy Friday, and good morning! My name is Taylor Heeden Larkins, and I am here with this week’s QWeekly.
This week has been a recovery week for me — I got married last week! Though it was very exciting and a dream come true, I was exhausted to say the least. At the end of the day, I was able to say ‘I do’ to my best friend and the person who understands me the most. Definitely worth it in the end.
But I’m back and better than ever, and this week, we have some interesting headlines coming from South Carolina.
The South Carolina superintendent of education recommended ignoring new federal protections expanding the definition of sex discrimination under Title IX to protect queer, trans and gender-nonconforming students. In addition, the superintendent also stated she believed once the rules go into effect August 1, they will most likely be challenged in court.
