Happy Friday, everyone, I hope you’re doing well. Welcome to this week’s QWeekly, where Qnotes brings you the latest headlines from the week. My name is Taylor, and as always, it’s a pleasure to bring you the most important and some of our favorite headlines from the week.

For those of you who don’t know, I am a HUGE fan of the original ‘Mean Girls.’ The movie, while filled with cliches and jokes that have since aged poorly, has remained one of my and other Gen Z peers’ favorite teen classics. I am also a huge fan of North Carolina’s own Reneé Rapp (23), who’s made a name for herself as a successful singer. Her music captures what it feels like to be a queer woman in her 20s, and as a fellow queer woman in her 20s, I felt a connection to her work more than other artists I’ve enjoyed.

Now, needless to say I was excited when it was announced Rapp would play THE Mean Girl, Regina George, in the movie musical adaptation of ‘Mean Girls.’ She used her queer identity to her advantage when playing the infamous blonde, but that wasn’t the only LGBTQ+ representation in the film.
