Hello, everyone, and Happy Friday! My name is Taylor, and I’m back in your inbox with this week’s QWeekly — Qnotes’ recap of the last week of headlines.
Earlier this week, the 66th annual Grammy Awards took place, and it was one of the most memorable for queer women as they took home some of the most coveted prizes of the evening. According to Billboard, three of the winners in the Big Four categories — Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist — were queer women. Miley Cyrus won Record of the Year for her hit “Flowers,” Billie Eilish took home Song of the Year for her Barbie movie hit “What Was I Made For?” and Victoria Monét won Best New Artist, marking the first time three different LGBTQ+ artists took home awards for the main categories.
On top of all of that, viewers were treated to a surprise appearance from country legend Tracy Chapman, who joined country singer and North Carolina native Luke Combs to perform her hit song “Fast Car.”
