Charlotte Pride is ready to kick off its 2024 season on Tuesday, February 13 noon to 4 p.m. with the The Charlotte Pride Job Fair returning to the Parr Center at Central Piedmont Community College – Central Campus (1201 Elizabeth Avenue in Charlotte).
This annual event provides necessary services for job seekers across the Queen City area in a central, accessible and welcoming academic space. LGBTQ+ job seekers, students, professionals or anyone looking for a career change can connect with companies actively hiring, network with other professionals, learn more skills and more during this job fair. A number of nonprofit organizations providing resources will also be present.
Participating employers include Duke Energy, Brighthouse Financial, Microsoft, NASCAR, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Wells Fargo, the U.S. Department of Labor, DCLI and more. Nonprofits with open positions and/or providing resources include PFLAG Charlotte, Equality North Carolina, and the Freedom Center for Social Justice.
“Charlotte Pride is excited to partner with Central Piedmont Community College for a second year in a row to host our annual job fair,” Riley Murray, Charlotte Pride Board President, said in a written statement. “Last year’s event was so successful that we’ve expanded our footprint across two floors of the Parr Center to provide even more space for job seekers and employers to connect.
This program serves as a bridge between job seekers and companies actively looking to hire and we are thrilled that it’s growing so quickly.”
Charlotte Pride is working in collaboration with the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, Transcend Charlotte and Olive AI Marketing to offer career advancement opportunities including free workshops, headshots and resume-building. Those who are interested in participating in the resume-building workshops are encouraged to bring their resumes to the job fair on a USB flash drive.
Parking for all attendees is free in parking deck three right across from the Parr Center at 230 N Kings Drive. The venue is also conveniently located along the LYNX streetcar and CATS bus line. Admission is free, and people can learn more about the Charlotte Pride Job Fair and find more details about events happening throughout the year by visiting the Charlotte Pride website.
