What: Part of a nationwide, spontaneous and grassroots organizing effort, protests against the passage of the anti-gay Proposition 8 in California, and other anti-gay ballot initiatives in other states, have been planned for Sat., Nov. 15.
Where: As of Nov. 12, six cities have protests slated for Saturday: Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Greenville, Raleigh and Wilmington.
Charlotte planning: An organizing meeting has been planned for 5 p.m., Wed., Nov. 12 at the Lesbian and Gay Community Center of Charlotte, 820 Hamilton Street Suite B11, Charlotte, NC 28206.
Charlotte location change: The Charlotte protest will be held at 600 E. 4th Street, at the Charlotte Government Center.
Raleigh location chosen: The Raleigh protest will be held on the Halifax Mall, located roughly at 46 E. Lane St. The Mall is the patch of grass between the N.C. Legislative Building and one of the many legislative office buildings. It sits between N. Salisbury and N. Wilmington Streets in downtown Raleigh.
Greenville location change: The Greenville, NC, event has been moved to Greenville City Hall. See events details at bottom of story.
