RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Association of Teen Democrats will host their 50th annual convention this weekend with several openly gay and gay-friendly leaders.
The event begins on Friday and runs through Saturday. Speakers at various receptions and dinners include openly gay N.C. House Rep. Marcus Brandon (D-Guilford), ally Rep. Pricey Harrison (D-Guilford) and openly gay, former U.S. Senate candidate Jim Neal.
“We are the official teenage outreach auxiliary of the North Carolina Democratic Party,” Teen Dems President Dylan Frick said in a release, “and we welcome all middle school and high school students who are interested in learning more about the political process.”
A reception on Saturday is open to the public. The entire Political Summit is free to all teenagers.
