CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Receptions celebrating the launch of a new multi-state LGBT business equality campaign will be held today in Charlotte, Raleigh, N.C. and Columbia, S.C.

Equality North Carolina, South Carolina Equality and Equality Virginia have come together for their new “Equality Means Business” campaign. They hope to move the needle on promoting and strengthening LGBT-friendly businesses and workplace protections and policies.

Their campaign is also complemented by a campaign launched this week by the Charlotte Business Guild, which hopes to promote more inclusive policies, workplace trainings and support from local businesses. The Guild is also partnering with Equality North Carolina and other organizations. In May, the Guild will release findings from its ongoing Charlotte Area Business Equality Index.

Stay tuned to qnotes for more on the programs, or go ahead and hop over to the Washington Blade and the Charlotte Observer for some of their coverage.

Columbia — Artizan on Bull, 1217 Bull St., 5 p.m. (Facebook event)

One reply on “LGBT business campaign launches today across Carolinas”

  1. Relocated from NYC and will be settles in Winston Salem NC by March. The GOP need to get a drift with Google and other business coming to NC. The employee base has an LGBT community. My Spa business is about sharing and give peace, not turning anyone away because of their body type or color of their skin. We need to embrace the year 2015 and know Equality and Human Diginity is par for the course.
