It’s been a long week of breaking news updates as same-sex couples in North Carolina await what could be a defining court order legalizing marriage equality.

In case you’ve missed the latest update, a federal district court judge in Greensboro late Thursday evening denied Republican state leaders their requested eight-day extension to file arguments against same-sex marriage.

That came after state House Speaker Thom Tillis and President Pro Tempore Phil Berger requested to intervene in the case, hiring attorneys with close ties to the anti-LGBT National Organization for Marriage.

For now, the marriage landscape in North Carolina looks much like it did on Monday, albeit with closer and closer steps being made toward full equality. Infographic below courtesy Cameron Joyce.
