LOS ANGELES — After originally being listed in critical condition following a motorcycle accident Tuesday, “Desperate Housewives” actor and former “Queer as Folk” star Gale Harold is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries, according to hospital staff and The Associated Press.

Harold, who played the infamous Brian McKinney on the Showtime gay hit, is scheduled for more tests at the University of Southern California Medical Center, said spokeswoman Adelaida De La Cerda.

Publicist Nancy Seltzer told the AP that Harold fractured his shoulder and “Housewives” creator Marc Cherry said Harold is suffering from some brain swelling. The actor is expected to recover from his injuries, but doubts remain as to when he will be able to reappear on the set of the ABC series.

“We’re hearing he’s going to be fine, but he’s going to be recovering for a couple of weeks,” Cherry said. “We know we’re going to rewrite one scene.”

Matt Comer previously served as editor from October 2007 through August 2015 and as a staff writer afterward in 2016.
