
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Marcus Young, gay, contemporary Christian singer and songwriter will perform at New Life Metropolitan Community Church this weekend.
The concert is scheduled for May 19, 7 p.m. at New Life, which worships at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 1900 The Plaza.
Young, 41, grew up in Indiana. He sang choir at his Disciples of Christ church as a child. In 1994, he recorded his first album, “Faith Hope & Love” at the Bill Gaither Recording Studios. His second CD was released in 1995, the same year he performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
The concert is free. Fellowship will follow the service.
Young is also scheduled to perform on May 18 and May 19 at New Day Christian Community Church in Greer, S.C.
