The event will be held on Nov. 13. in Greensboro. The day-long conference will be held at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro’s Elliott University Center and the evening Gala will be held downtown at the Empire Room, 203 S. Elm St.

Last year attendance was 400, up from 350 the year before, and ENCF expect 450 this year. Open registration is expected by the end of August. The Conference and Gala schedules and programs should be complete by the end of September.

According to ENCF, the “Equality Conference is designed to foster activism and leadership within the LGBT rights movement in North Carolina and we keep admission fees as low as possible to encourage maximum attendance from every part of the LGBT community. Attendees start the day with our annual State of Equality Report, attend their choice of hands-on workshops covering a variety of topics, come together for a caucusing lunch, learn more about our sponsors through their exhibits and wind up the day with our keynote speaker.”

The Foundation’s annual fundraiser is the Equality Gala. It provides an opportunity to celebrate “the work we do together with our supporters across the state.” ENCF presents an annual leadership award to its legislative champion of the year.
