Right off the heels of the great success that was Charlotte Pride 2026 comes big news for next year’s celebration. One of the largest and most rapidly growing Pride celebrations in the Southeast, Charlotte Pride recently announced multiple updates for Pride 2027.

First on the list of updates is the announcement of a new Youth & Family Pride Event slated for June. Past Charlotte Pride celebrations have included families and youth during the August festival in a designated Youth & Family Zone, an alcohol-free area that provided appropriate entertainment and activities for families and children.

With this upcoming change, however, the annual August Pride celebration will  occur in Charlotte as usual while the Youth & Family Pride Event will coincide with nationally celebrated Pride Month in June, offering a more intentional and tailored experience for family and young festival-goers.

The second big update sends Pride festivities back to their roots on Tryon Street. Charlotte Pride 2027’s core activations will anchor themselves along Uptown Charlotte’s central corridor yet again. With this expanded footprint, there will be more room to accommodate the ever-growing crowd for next year’s celebrations and additional space for community-favorite events that are expected to return.

Finally, the time of the annual Charlotte Pride parade is set to change to a twilight-to-evening parade. The Charlotte Pride 2026 parade drew a massive crowd, despite the scorching heat wave. With the later scheduled time, crowds will be kept safe from harsh sunlight and intensified heat, while continuing to celebrate an illuminated Pride parade through the heart of the city. Charlotte Pride encourages festival-goers to bring along glowsticks and fairy lights in a show of LGBTQ+ visibility.
