WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Charlotte LGBT leader and the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop will be special guests at a business dinner tonight sponsored by Equality Winston-Salem and the North Star LGBT Community Center.

The dinner, “In Good Company,” will celebrate LGBT-friendly employers and employees, along with small businesses, non-profits and affirming faith communities. It is being held at the Twin City Quarter, in the Grand Pavilion Ballroom at the Embassy Suites, 460 N. Cherry St. The dinner runs from 6-9 p.m.

Charlotte LGBT leader John Stotler will keynote the event. He is the president of the Wells Fargo Pride Team Member Network. He’s also a former board member of the LGBT Community Center of Charlotte, where he served as chair from 2010-2012.

The invocation for the dinner will be delivered by Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson, the church’s first openly gay bishop. He is in town for this weekend’s Out at the Movies Winston-Salem Film Festival.

Some tickets are still available for tonight’s dinner. Click here for more or email equalitywinstonsalem@gmail.com. Proceeds benefit the North Star community center.
