Thomas Frieden needs your help in the fight to save the next generation.

In 2013, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) responded to a report on the effectiveness of a new vaccine to fight human papillomavirus (HPV).

The vaccine showed a 56-percent success rate in lowering HPV infections among teenage girls during the seven years since it was first introduced to the public.

HPV vaccine is available at little or no cost to children and young adults up to age 19 who meet Vaccines for Children program guidelines. Vaccine is also available to anyone up to age 26 through private doctors, federally qualified health centers and rural health centers.

Frieden was quoted in a CDC press release: “The report should be a wake-up call to our nation to protect the next generation by increasing HPV vaccination rates.”

At the time, only about 30 percent of teenage girls nationwide had received the vaccine.

Vaccinating 80 percent of these girls against HPV, Frieden said, could save about 4,400 of them every year from developing cervical cancer later in life.

“Through these promising results, public health experts and clinicians look forward to more people getting vaccinated for HPV,” the press release reads.

Bottom line: Vaccinating against HPV is vaccinating against certain types of cancer.

The Virus

HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection. The virus is passed through intimate skin-to-skin contact, typically during vaginal or anal sex.

“HPV is so common that nearly all sexually active men and women get it at some point in their lives,” the CDC website reads. “HPV can be passed even when an infected person has no signs or symptoms.”

The virus comes in about 150 different types.

About 40 of those types can cause certain cancers in both women and men later in life.

“Though most HPV infections go away on their own, some HPV infections persist,” the website reads. “HPV infections that don’t go away can cause changes in the cells in the infected area, which can lead to genital warts or cancer. There is no way to know which people will develop cancer or other health problems.”

HPV gives rise to about 27,000 new cancers in American men and women every year.

The Vaccine

Vaccinating against HPV early in life can help prevent cancers of the cervix, vulva, vagina, penis, anus, tongue, tonsils and throat later in life.

Health authorities recommend the vaccine for anyone between the ages of 11 and 26. This includes both men and women, regardless of sexual orientation.

The vaccine, administered in three doses over a six-month period, is considered safe, with no serious side effects.

“The benefits of HPV vaccination far outweigh any potential risk of side effects,” the CDC website reads.

The Providers

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) helps qualifying families access HPV vaccine at little or no cost through county health departments.

For families with children up to age 19, NCDHHS partners with the federal Vaccines for Children program to help cover the cost.

These families qualify if their children meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Enrolled in or eligible for Medicaid

• No health insurance

• Native American

• Underinsured (private insurance that doesn’t cover HPV vaccine)

Private doctors, federally qualified health centers and rural health centers also offer the vaccine. : :

  1. Thomas Friedman is a vaccine industry insider that lines his pockets with profits from the vaccine makers. I’m sure people in the US are unaware that people who work for the CDC, FDA, IOM, IOH, pharmaceutical companies and even even politicians who have pharm stock in their spouses name-can-own pharmaceutical stock and profit from the sales of vaccines. The US congress doesn’t consider it a conflict of interest.

-There is no Cervical Cancer Crisis or Epidemic in the US.

-There is absolute not one shred of scientific data that confirms that HPV causes cervical cancer-Period.

-The average of a woman who developed cervical cancer is 45-60, depending on which research you read.

-Children, Teens and twenty something’s do not get cervical cancer.

-There are over 100 strains of HPV, only a few can be loosely related to the development of cervical cancer. The HPV shot has only 4 strains-2 not in Black or Hispanic females.

-Two of the strains in the shot do not cover Black females or Hispanics- groups that have a higher chance of developing cervical cancer: http://www.medscape(dot)com/viewarticle/813365.

-According to current research it takes 20 years for cervical cancer to develop naturally. Based on this research the effectiveness of a vaccine CANNOT be determined for at least 20 years.

-Cervical Cancer, just like any other cancer develops as a result of lifestyle choices. Diet, exercise, maintaing good weight, no smoking, drinking, no drugs, minimal sexual partners-common sense approaches to life.

-Cervical cancer tends to occur in midlife. Most cases are not found in women younger than 50. It rarely develops in women younger than 20. Many older women do not realize that the risk of developing cervical cancer is still present as they age. More than 15% of cases of cervical cancer are found in women over 65. However these cancers rarely occur in women who have been getting regular tests to screen for cervical cancer before they were 65.

    – The vaccine does not protect against infection from several other HPV subtypes, and it is no better than placebo in clearing already existing infection…

Other countries are no longer recommending the HPV vaccines and are greatly scrutinizing them as many young people have suffered substantial health injuries due to it. Because the pharmaceutical industry has a stranglehold on the MSM, medical industry and politicians in the US-this information is never published. The US is called corporate AMerica for a reason.

As far as Breast Cancer awareness goes. The world is aware of breast cancer and the constantly advertising of Run for the Cure promotions. This has gone on for how many decades-the running for the cure and it hasn’t been found yet. How about this-promote a RUN FOR THE CAUSE promotion. From everything I’ve been reading over the years having know people who suffered and died from breast cancer-the cancer industry isn’t looking for a cure.
