Southern Bears, Atlanta’s premier club for hirsute men and their admirers, will present their annual Atlanta Bear Fest July 2-5, with a weekend full of fun and memorable events.

Organizers announced at the beginning of May that they’ve confirmed Rich McGunn, BEAR Magazine cover model for the May 2009 issue, will attend the weekend’s events. McGunn will socialize with attendees at pool parties and perform at select Atlanta venues to be announced at a later date.

This year’s festival theme is “Red, White & Bears.” Organizers say the festival will bring men from across the southeast and the nation for a “four-day celebration of lazy fun and fur.”

“We’re pulling out all of the stops to make Atlanta Bear Fest an event to remember,” said John Beck, president of the Southern Bears. “Everything we have planned for ABF, including open bar nights, pool parties, food and live entertainment, promises that our guests will experience our unique flavor of southern hospitality, but the addition of Rich McGunn takes ABF to a new level.”

The Bear Fest’s host hotel is the Courtyard Northlake Marriott. The fee for weekend festival participation is $79. For more information on the events and host hotel accommodations, visit www.atlantabearfest2009.com.
