BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University’s 13th Annual Queer Film Series is underway.
On Oct. 30, 7:30 p.m, in Library 114, get your “mind warp” on with the presentation of the “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” This cult and all-time favorite comes just in time for Halloween. Dr. Gordon Hensley, Theater and Dance Department, and Dr. Craig Fischer, English Department, will be the guest speakers.
On Nov. 13, 7:30 p.m., in Library 114, enjoy “Facing Mirrors,” a narrative film from Iran featuring a transgender main character. This feature won the Best Feature-Length Movie of the 36th annual Frameline LGBT Film Festival.
Later in the month, on Nov. 26 and Nov. 28, 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., catch the must-see “Bully,” an intimate look at how bullying as touched five kids and their families. A discussion panel follows each presentation.
