The LGBT-focused LOGO television network has announced a July 23 premiere date for “Sordid Lives: The Series.”
Like the 1996 play and 2000 film of the same name, “Sordid Lives: The Series,” is created, written and directed by Del Shores and stars Bonnie Bedelia (“Die Hard,” “The Division”), Beth Grant (“No Country for Old Men,” “Little Miss Sunshine”), Emmy Award winner Leslie Jordan (“Will & Grace”), Emmy Award winner Rue McClanahan (“The Golden Girls”), Olivia Newton-John (“Grease”) and Caroline Rhea (“Sabrina, The Teenage Witch,” “The Caroline Rhea Show”).
The series’ 12 half-hour episodes are a humorous look at a dysfunctional family and the denizens of Winters, Texas, with creator Del Shores portraying the outrageous, dysfunctional and not-always-pretty side of Southern family life.
The show also chronicles the story of the handsome young son (newcomer Jason Dottley) of one of the sisters in the family (Bedelia), as he struggles with coming out to his Republican Baptist family while pursuing an acting career in Los Angeles.

Grammy Award winner Olivia Newton-John will perform five new original songs written exclusively for the series and there will be several guest star appearances including Bobby Eakes, Margaret Cho, Candis Cayne, Carson Kressley and Georgette Jones, the daughter of Tammy Wynette, playing her mother in a dream sequence.
