ATLANTA — Organization staffers, community members, activists and organizers from both North Carolina and South Carolina came in force to the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s Creating Change conference this weekend. The annual event is the largest national gathering of LGBT activists and organizers.

North Carolina’s delegation included representatives from Equality North Carolina, Campus Pride, the LGBT Center of Raleigh, North Carolina State University’s GLBT Center and Time Out Youth.

South Carolina’s delegation was nearly double the size, a testament to the closeness and organizing power of the Palmetto State’s LGBT community. Representatives included staffers, volunteers and others from South Carolina Equality, the Harriet Hancock LGBT Center, South Carolina Pride, YEAH!, the University of South Carolina and the Alliance for Full Acceptance.

  1. So great to see NC/SC actively engaged with The Task Force at the Creating Change conference. I have come for 12 years now and this is the most “visible” Carolina presence I have ever seen — #keepthemomentum!
