Good morning, everyone, and Happy Tuesday! My name is Taylor, and I am here with this week’s OUTlook, Qnotes’ weekly newsletter about LGBTQ+ business, labor and workplace equality.
Today I want to talk about volunteering and how it impacts the business community. Over 60 percent of companies offer paid time off for their employees to dedicate their time to volunteering for organizations they believe are helpful. According to a study performed by The Corporation for National & Community Service, 25 percent of Americans volunteer their time regularly to nonprofits and community organizations.
On March 6, Charlotte’s The Plus Collective is hosting its annual volunteer fair from 6 to 8 p.m, and it’s designed to connect individuals interested in volunteering for Mecklenburg County LGBTQ+ organizations.
