Greetings Qnotes readers,
We’re nearly 50 days into Donald Trump’s second effort in the White House. That’s less than two months and it’s likely in that brief time he has done more damage to this country here at home and around the globe than any previous president in control of the office in United States history during an entire term. Take a look at the first four stories below — they all point to ways Trump’s administration has negatively impacted our community.
As we make our way through Women’s History month, we’ll continue to explore strong women and how they have and are making an impact in the world. Please read our interview with Reproductive Rights Coalition Director Alexandria Cardone to keep abreast of the continuing fight for women’s reproductive rights in the Carolinas.
Despite the importance of staying informed about politics and how it impacts our community and the world at large, it’s important to remember other aspects of life. That’s why we’re catching up on the latest with one of our favorite LGBTQ+ allies, Dolly Parton.
For your reading pleasure, we’ve also included a review of “Cleavage: Men, Women and the Space Between Us,” which takes a look at Transgender author Jennofer Boylan’s attempt to hold together her family and a previously cisgender relationship as she transitioned from male to female. It’s a heartfelt and, at times, comedic journey.
As always, please remember we’re constantly on the prowl for local topics to cover. If you’ve got an inside line on a story that needs to be told, contact us at editor@qnotescarolinas.com.
Sincerely,
David Aaron Moore

FOR NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH
The Reproductive Rights Coalition
In 1973, a landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, legalized abortion in the United States. The ruling established that the U.S. Constitution protects a person’s right to privacy, which included the right to control pregnancy. Prior to that, real life horror stories were not uncommon: women being forced to bring pregnancies to term even […]
