Greetings, and welcome to the year 2025. That sounds so futuristic, yet we’re not running from gorillas on horseback, galloping through the cosmos at the speed of light or even zipping around town in personal flight transportation. But who knows what the New Year might hold?

In our latest edition of Q weekly, we take a look back at those we lost in 2024, including family, friends and allies.

In Our People, we get to know North Carolina resident Steve Mowry, one of the hosts of the podcast Comic Book Bears.

But that’s not all. In our continuing look at the impact of Hurricane Helene on Western North Carolina, we examine how one woman made a huge difference with the help of many others through the use of the internet server Discord. We also delve into the challenges trans individuals face during transition and help provided through a name change clinic.

As usual, we offer important news regarding the LGBTQ+ community and details on how it can impact you.

Best in the new year,

David Aaron Moore
