OUTlook is a Weekly Newsletter about LGBTQ+ business, labor, workplace equality and all things related from Qnotes.

I have no doubt most of us are feeling a bit overwhelmed by what’s occurring in this country under the current administration. While we’ll always continue to report on these developments and how they’re impacting our community, for this edition of OUTlook we’re focusing on some positive developments.

In national news coming from the red state of Florida, we’ve got some exceptionally good news from our friends at Walt Disney World in Florida. Despite pressure from the MAGA crowd, Disney is refusing to step back from HRC’s annual Corporate Equality Index. And why should they? For years in a row they’ve captured the highest score possible in their efforts to make certain the LGBTQ+ community is treated equitably, and that’s something to be proud of.

On the state level, Raleigh will open their new LGBT Center later this year, and in Charlotte, the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce is celebrating Trans Day of Visibility a day early on Sunday, March 30, with the event “Kaleidoscope.” The presentation will serve as a resource market and an opportunity to network and make new friends.

As always, keep us in mind if you have a story idea, event or suggestion you want to share. Email us at editor@qnotescarolinas.com.
