The OUTlook, a weekly newsletter about LGBTQ+ business, labor and workplace equality from Qnotes.
In our latest edition we take a look at the life of an old friend who left us just before year’s end: President Jimmy Carter. During his term in office (1976-80) Carter became the first president to extend an olive branch of support for our community that led us to where we are today. He passed away December 29, at the age of 100.
We’ll also examine the upswing in same-sex marriages in the days leading up to Donald Trump’s return to the White House. Is the fear and haste justified? Some say yes, while others insist the sky isn’t falling.
As President Biden leaves office, his attempt to provide protection for Trans youth in sports was stymied by multiple calls for clarification and expansion. Regrettably, the presidential order lost muster and was shelved. Are trans community members open to even more discrimination as a result?
In our last newsletter for 2024, we wish you the best for 2025 and look forward to serving you in the new year.
Sincerely,
David Aaron Moore

Biden administration withdraws attempt to protect trans student-athletes
After a misguided attempt to bring its version of fairness to trans student-athletes, the Biden administration has withdrawn a proposed ruling through Title IX guidelines. The rule had sought to generally allow trans elementary school students to play on sports teams matching their gender identities. However, higher school levels would still be able to ban […]
