Good morning, everyone, and Happy Tuesday! My name is Taylor, and I’m here with this week’s OUTlook.
This week, I want to talk about one of the biggest economic developments in North Carolina: VinFast. VinFast is an electric vehicle manufacturer based out of Vietnam, and in 2022, it was announced the company would be building its first United States manufacturing facility in Moncure — a small community located in Chatham County, North Carolina.
Since its announcement, Chatham County residents and environmental activists have raised concerns regarding the impact VinFast will have on the surrounding environment — from water quality to land preservation.
