Greetings Qnotes readers,

This past March 23, Charlotte’s LGBTQ+ Community lost a much loved member, 36-year-old Rashawn Gray, known by many friends and family as Booda Boo. See the details below.

On a national level we take a look at how Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s continuing efforts to defund many parts of our government are impacting healthcare for the LGBTQ+ community in our region.

From a more positive perspective we’re excited to delve into sports that are popular with the LGBTQ+ community in Charlotte and the Carolinas through exclusive interviews with the Charlotte Roller Derby Team and the Carolinas Ascent Football Club.

In another exclusive interview we speak with Lesbian Political Action Committee director Michelle Atwood, who shares her thoughts on the future of our country and what her organization does to help elect lesbian and non-binary candidates running for office.

Additionally, we’ve included an interview for Our People with Stonewall Sports President Bryce Moffett; and the latest details on the upcoming Charlotte BOOM festival.

Keep us in mind! If you’ve got an inside line on a story that needs to be told, contact us at editor@qnotescarolinas.com.

Sincerely,

David Aaron Moore
