The L Word, Final Season
DVD release: Oct. 20
It’s the final season of the show that won our hearts and got us talking; the show that The New York Times called: “a Sapphic Playboy fantasia” for its unwavering dedication to portraying sexy lesbian characters in a steady stream of increasingly hot and wild story lines. Season 6 is wilder than ever as it revolves around the $64,000 question: “Who Killed Jenny?” Nope, that’s not a spoiler — the first episode begins with that question and we spend the whole season in flashback leading up to the big event.

Antichrist

Wrecked
DVD release: Nov. 10
An edgy drama about a gay teen’s tumultuous decent into drugs and anonymous sex, “Wrecked” smashes cinematic taboos while it spins its cautionary tale. Ryan is an earnest 18-year-old trying to develop a career as an actor and getting his life on the right track. This course is quickly threatened with the sudden arrival of his sort-of ex, Daniel, who arrives at Ryan’s door wanting a place to stay and offering the promise of a normal, loving relationship. But Daniel’s drug addiction and attitude towards casual sex derail any hope for normalcy and soon ensnares Ryan in his own downward spiral. Handheld cameras, a hot young cast and a boldly upfront approach to sex combine to make “Wrecked” a unique film experience.

Make the Yuletide Gay
DVD release: Nov. 10
Rob Williams, the director of “Long-Term Relationship,” “Back Soon” and “3-Day Weekend,” brings us a hilarious addition to the gay holiday genre. The holidays get overly festive as Olaf “Gunn” Gunnunderson (Keith Jordan), an out-and-proud gay college student, crawls back into the closet to survive the holidays with his parents (hilarious performances by Derek Long & Kelly Keaton). He keeps his cool as his quirky Midwestern hale and hearty parents try to set him up with his high school sweetheart, Abby (Hallee Hirsh). But when his boyfriend, Nathan (Adamo Ruggiero), shows up at their doorstep unannounced, Gunn must put on a charade to keep the relationship a secret. With pressure mounting from all sides, will Gunn come out before the truth does?

Shank
DVD release: Dec. 8
Worlds collide as the lives of Cal and Olivier intersect in “Shank,” a gritty British coming of age/rites of passage drama. Cal, an 18-year-old Scally lad and gang member has nothing in his life except drugs, sex, random acts of violence and a secret that he keeps hidden from his mates. An online hook up for sex with a stranger, temporarily satisfies but fails to dampen his unspoken desires for his best mate, Jonno. Nessa, their twisted, foul-mouthed and controlling gang leader, suspects that there is something going on between them but she can’t put her finger on it. Jonno, putty in Nessa’s hands, can’t express his own deep rooted and unrequited attachment to Cal. Manipulating situations that bring her closer to having her suspicions confirmed, Nessa sets out about dividing loyalties and encouraging conflict.
