Festival of India

The India Association of Charlotte is proud to present its annual 28th Festival Of India but with a twist! It will be a two-day event – day one at Belk Theater and on Tryon Street Uptown, on Saturday and day two on Sunday at the Ballantyne’s Backyard (11611 N Community House Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277). This two-day event celebrates India’s rich heritage of artistic and cultural diversity and is an effort to present a glimpse of that to our mainstream community in and around the Queen City. Prepare to be dazzled, entertained, and learn something about the culture as you and your family sample Indian culinary delights, get an artistic Henna tattoo, watch and dance along to popular and pulsating Bollywood music, learn about yoga, see Indian classical dance, and marvel at captivating fashions! You can participate in interactive workshops for dance, wind chimes, and traditional Rangoli making while trying on a sari. The entire family can enjoy this family-friendly event, catered to all age groups, with something for everyone. Please visit our website for more details.

The event is organized by the India Association of Charlotte, a nonprofit, non-religious, cultural organization established to serve the Indian Community in the Charlotte area. Its mission is to share Indian culture with the people of the Carolinas and to foster better understanding of the cultural diversity of India with the local Indian Diaspora and the mainstream community at large.
