Mark your calendars for a special community forum with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officials, including Chief of Police Rodney Monroe, scheduled for Oct. 12, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Lesbian & Gay Community Center of Charlotte, 820 Hamilton St., Suite B11.

Organized by several community members, including Mecklenburg LGBT Political Action Committee (MeckPAC) steering committee member Roberta Dunn, the forum will allow community members to learn about recent developments with CMPD, ask questions and provide feedback on the possible creation of an LGBT police liaison position in the department. The forum is free and open to the public.
