News from last week is just now making it into our field of view, regarding the July anti-gay bashing on Wilmington’s Front St.
From the Wilmington Star-News:
Melvin Freanthony Spicer, Daniel Minwoo Lee and Jong Tae Chung each pleaded guilty to two counts of assault inflicting serious injury, said Jon David, New Hanover County assistant district attorney.
A judge sentenced Spicer and Chung to four months in prison and three years of probation. If the two men violate their probation, the remaining time of their 15- to 18-month prison sentence could be reactivated, David said.
According to the article, the judge also order Spicer and Chung to attend anger management classes and pay the victims $5,000 in restitution.
Lee will be sentenced later. According to WECT, he worked with the prosecution and made a statement against the other defendants. Lee faces a maximum of five years in jail. Chong starts his sentence on June 14.
