HENDERSONVILLE — Blue Star Camps’ Rosalie Keyser Popkin died on Nov. 3 in Key Biscayne, Fla., after a short illness.
Popkin was the last surviving co-founder of the popular Jewish summer camp which began in 1948. She was joined in death by her husband Herman Popkin, as well as the other founders of Blue Star Camps, Harry and and Ben Popkin and their spouses.
She was liberal and was a strong believer in civil rights, universal justice, environmental conservation, gay rights, world peace and the State of Israel.
Services were held in Hollywood, Fla., on Oct. 5.
