The Plus Collective is set to have its annual volunteer fair from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, at NoDa North End, 150 W. 32nd St in Charlotte. The event is designed to connect individuals interested in volunteering for Mecklenburg County LGBTQ+ organizations.
The Plus Collective is a Charlotte-based organization which works to “award grants to organizations that support the LGBTQ+ community in the Charlotte region while also cultivating partnerships with community allies.” The collective has awarded almost $2 million in grants to various groups and organizations across the city, including Charlotte Black Pride, PFLAG Charlotte, Time Out Youth and more.
The Plus Collective hosts this volunteer fair in partnership with nonprofits, community organizations and other LGBTQ+ related committees. Some of the organizations at this year’s fair include Blumenthal Arts, Carolinas CARE Partnership, Theatre Gap Initiative, One Voice, Chorus of Charlotte, Equality NC, Charlotte Gaymers Network, Charlotte Royals Rugby Football Club, Charlotte Pride, Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte, Women’s Chorus of Charlotte, Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, We Rock Charlotte, Charlotte Transgender Healthcare Group and more.
“We are looking forward to welcoming you and all of our friends to join us for this volunteer fair and learn more about some really incredible opportunities to deepen your relationship in the LGBTQ+ community of Charlotte,” a statement from the organization reads.
Registration is required to attend the volunteer fair. You can register for the event online through the Plus Collective’s website or through the organization’s Facebook post regarding the event.
