Liz Schob

Liz Schob is Director of Strategic Initiatives at Qnotes Carolinas and a contributing writer. She leads long-term growth and sustainability efforts for the only LGBTQ+ newsroom in the Carolinas, while also contributing reporting across a wide range of beats.

As a contributing writer for Qnotes, Liz covers LGBTQ+ politics, civil rights, healthcare, immigration, faith, arts and culture, technology, and social justice, with a focus on accountability reporting and community-centered storytelling. Her work examines how public policy, institutional power, and cultural forces shape the daily lives and spaces of LGBTQ+ communities, particularly in the Carolinas and across the South.

Outside of Qnotes, Liz has spent her career working in education, nonprofit communications, advocacy, and community organizing, supporting social justice initiatives across Charlotte and beyond.

She is also the chief creative officer of Olive AI Creative, a human-centered design and communications studio focused on ethical storytelling, publishing, and digital strategy.

A proud North Carolina native, Liz is committed to social justice, collective liberation, and building lasting community power.
