CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Citizens interested in with local government affairs will have the opportunity to seek appointment to several vacancies on some local boards and commissions.

The Charlotte City Council is currently taking applications for appointment to the eight different advisory committees and boards.

Current vacancies include positions on the city’s bicycle advisory and business advisory committees, housing appeals board, neighborhood matching grants fund review team, privatization/competition advisory and transit services advisory committees, waste management advisory board and zoning board of adjustment.

Those interested in applications can call 704-336-7494 or learn more and download applications online at the city-county government website. Applicants must be registered voters in Mecklenburg County. Applications are due to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4.

The council will fill the vacancies at their meeting on Jan. 15.
