The year’s annual Charlotte Pride Job Fair takes place February 19 at UNC Charlotte’s Dubois Center in First Ward. The event connects job seekers with welcoming employers from across the Queen City in a central venue, easily accessible on foot or via public transportation. The fair begins at 10 a.m. and continues through 2 p.m.

The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte’s Center City Campus is located at 320 East Ninth Street in Charlotte. The venue is conveniently located near the LYNX Seventh Street and Ninth Street Stations. Admission is free. Convenient parking is available on the street and in surrounding lots, including the Preferred Parking lots at 300 E 9th St, and 401 E 7th St.

Job seekers, students, professionals and anyone looking for a change in career will be able to gain resources and tools to support their career path and to connect with companies actively hiring. A number of nonprofit organizations will also be present to share resources, and free, professional headshots will be offered throughout the day.

“For me, the job fair is one of our most important annual programs,” says Riley Murray, Charlotte Pride Board President. “At this moment, when the job market is tougher, it’s especially important to offer space for people to network and gain access to opportunity.”
Added Meredith Thompson, Pride Managing Director: “It’s fitting for us to bring this event into the heart of our Charlotte Pride Festival zone,” signifying that Pride is active year-round. “We want folks to know we’re here to uplift our community and to have a real impact in their lives beyond our big Charlotte Pride Festival Weekend.”

This year’s Charlotte Pride Job Fair will offer a dynamic workshop from 12 pm – 1 pm, hosted by Get Hired Quicker (Zach Anderson) and Cannavo Studios (Adam Cannavo). The workshop will include live LinkedIn makeovers and will equip attendees with the tools they need to promote themselves to potential employers. Other career advancement opportunities include free headshots and resume-building. Attendees wishing to utilize the free resume-building services are encouraged to bring their resume on a USB flash drive.

Participating employers include Brighthouse Financial, PSA Airlines, TTX Company, Food Lion, and more. Nonprofits with open positions and/or providing resources include the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, RAIN, and the Freedom Center for Social Justice.
